The j7+ also comes with a front-facing camera that is supposed to help the robot stay clear of dangers like power cords and pet waste. The camera isn't able to work as well in dim lighting, though you may want to consider a rival with a better-performing camera, such as the Roborock S7 MaxV.

Lastly, I was pleased to find that the iRobot automatically empties its dust bin into the Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal when it is docked. This is a huge improvement over most competitors which require you to open manually and empty the dust bag. This small detail will make your life easier and less stressful.

3. Ecovacs Deebot T10 Omni

The Deebot T10 Omni is a sleek and stylish robot that delivers impressive cleaning performance. It features 5000Pa suction. It is equipped with a powerful battery that can be used for both vacuuming and mopping. When the battery runs low, it will return to its dock. The T10 Omni is an excellent option for anyone looking to get a robot vacuum and mop that can empty itself. Its mops have the same power as the vacuums and has a more appealing design than Roomba. Although it lacks an remote control, its smart capabilities compensate for this absence. With the app, you can easily start and stop a cleaning cycle. You can also schedule it and alter device settings.

4. Shark ION SX

Shark's top-of-the-line self-emptying robotic vacuum, the ION XL is an excellent option for those looking for hands-off cleaning with an outstanding level of performance. The vacuum comes with a big bin that can store a month's worth of dirt. It can be set up to empty the bin at the conclusion of each cleaning session to ensure long-term storage. The ION XL robot vacuum is one of the most versatile available. It can clean carpets as well as hard floors. It was also very good in getting around my barstools and did not bump into them like the iRobot j7+ did in this test. The only drawback to the ION XL is that it does not detect shoes, cords or toys in its path. You will need to clean your home before you run this robotic vacuum if want it to avoid them.

The ION XL robotic cleaner isn't as smart as the iRobot j7+ but it's a good alternative if you don't want to spend more than $500 on a robot. It's better than the eufy RoboVac 11S, in many ways. It's more easy to maintain and has lower recurring costs. It is also better in vacuuming floors that are not clean and removing pet fur, but not as effective on low- or carpets with higher pile.

It's not as robust however it's an excellent choice. The ION XL is a powerful machine with a huge capacity bin. It is operated by an app or a voice command, and is simple to maintain. It also comes at a reasonable price.
