BMW Ghost Immobiliser

The Ghost uses the CAN data bus for communication with your vehicle. This prevents thieves from replacing the ECU or putting in a new lock to bypass the security system.

The Ghost is different from other immobilisers in that it does not use key fobs or LED indicators. Instead, it uses the buttons on your vehicle to allow you to enter a unique disarm sequence that only you know.

Stop & Start

If you have ever driven a new BMW or used the stop start feature, then you might have noticed that when you stop the engine the engine will continue to run for about 30 seconds after releasing the brake pedal. Our BMW ghost immobiliser, a new generation device, doesn't require cutting OEM wires or add aftermarket alarms and key fobs. It is connected to the BMW's CAN data network and programmed with an encrypted, secure PIN code which is accessed using buttons installed in your car. Service / Valet Mode

This lets you start the vehicle using your keys, but it stops the engine from starting until the correct code has been entered. It also allows you to bring the vehicle into the garage for maintenance or repairs without having to worry about it getting taken away or altered by a mechanic while you wait.

Anti-Hijack

With high-tech thieves becoming more and more sophisticated the technology in security systems has to change, that's why Ghost has developed this discreet and non-obtrusive immobiliser. It is designed to stop thieves from acquiring a new key or replacing the ECU to start your vehicle and then drive away. Ghost connects to your CAN data network and uses the buttons in your vehicle (steering wheel and centre console as well as door panels) to create an individual push sequence that requires to be entered before the engine can start.

When the anti-hijacking feature is activated and the engine is restarted, any attempt to restart the engine will be stopped. The system will hone the horn, flash the indicators and stop the vehicle in the event that the code cannot be found. By entering your push sequence or entering service mode, you can deactivate the Anti-Hijack feature. This allows your vehicle to start temporarily without having to enter the PIN.

You can also see your vehicle in real-time on a map displayed on your smartphone, ideal to track your car while moving around.

The Ghost can be positioned under the dashboard or in the centre console, it is completely concealed and tamperproof and doesn't require any additional wiring. The device is connected to the CAN Data Network of the vehicle (similar to Ethernet cable) and a personalised pin code is inserted into it. The pin code has to be entered prior to the vehicle's start. This stops thieves from gaining access to the system using a cloned or replaced ECU.
